Your AI Policy Should Guide Your People, Not Just Protect Your Organisation

Most AI policies are written by lawyers for lawyers. We help you write one that your people will actually read and use.

Most organisations that have an AI policy have one that was written primarily to manage legal and reputational risk. It covers what employees are not allowed to do with AI, what data they cannot share with AI tools, and what happens if they breach the policy. It is important. It is also, in most cases, the entirety of what the organisation has said to its people about AI.

That is a problem. Because a policy that only says "here is what you cannot do" does not help your people navigate the hundreds of small decisions they make every day about whether and how to use AI in their work. It does not build confidence. It does not reduce anxiety. And it does not help your organisation get the productivity and quality benefits that thoughtful AI adoption can deliver.

A people-focused AI policy does all of these things. It is clear about boundaries, yes, but it is also clear about intent, about values, about what good AI use looks like in your organisation, and about how your people can get support when they are unsure. It is a guide, not just a rulebook.

We work with HR Directors, Legal teams, and senior leaders to review your existing AI policy, or help you create one if you do not have one yet, and transform it into something that genuinely serves your people and your organisation.

Who This Is For

This service is for HR Directors, General Counsel, and senior leaders in organisations of 20 to 500 people who have an AI policy that is not fit for purpose, or who are creating one for the first time and want to get it right.

What the Process Looks Like

We begin by reviewing your existing policy (if you have one) and any related documentation: your data protection policy, your acceptable use policy, your employment contracts. We then facilitate a working session with key stakeholders to agree on the principles, scope, and tone of the updated policy. We draft the new policy, review it with you, and refine it based on feedback.

We also provide guidance on how to communicate the policy to your people in a way that is engaging and clear, and how to train managers to handle questions and grey areas.

What You Walk Away With

  • A clear, practical, people-focused AI policy tailored to your organisation

  • Guidance on how to communicate the policy to your workforce

  • A manager briefing document covering common questions and grey areas

  • A review schedule to keep the policy current as AI tools and regulations evolve
